Art comes to Caravane.
Johanna Gaudeau and Caravane join forces to create a series of unique artworks.

For this collaboration with Caravane, Johanna Gaudeau reinterprets the house’s signature materials, cotton, linen, khadi and hand-printed fabrics, integrating them directly into the heart of her creations. Inspired by the wild landscapes discovered throughout her travels, she creates textured compositions combining sand, textiles and hand-crafted ceramics. Designed to interact naturally with living spaces, her works invite a deeply sensitive and sensory experience.

This artwork draws inspiration from the striking contrasts discovered in South Africa: the depth of the red earth, raw landscapes flooded with light, blazing skies, but also the almost icy softness of the ocean and its turquoise reflections. Through this composition, the artist captures the meeting point between mineral warmth and marine freshness, between the intensity of color and the calmness of open horizons.

To create these works, Johanna Gaudeau combined lime paint, natural pigments and Caravane fabrics. Her choice fell on the Tullio fabric, whose combination of burgundy and blue tones echoed the contrasts that deeply marked her during this journey. The floral motif also evokes the bougainvillea seen along certain South African streets, extending the sensitive and vegetal dimension of the artwork.
