Don't be fooled by its classic black and white appearance: Platao's charm lies in the subtlety of its shades:
- An off-white background, with a natural charm.
- Bordered with two lines of black cotton, one thin, the other more generous.
- Within it, we can barely make out its regular, clearer, immaculate lines, which enhance the whole with a touch of light.
A placemat made of banana fiber, held together with a patiently knotted cotton thread. Each piece was handcrafted on manual looms in the Tamil Nadu region of southern India.
Softly finished fringes reveal the fineness of the cotton fiber used.
