A living matter
The glass is first melted in a pot furnace, heated to 1300 degrees, until it melts. The material then becomes transparent, rigid and liquid at the same time, hypnotic.
The blower begins by picking up a piece with his cane and shaping it on a flat surface. Then, with a short breath, he creates a first bubble in its center, so that the hot glass expands gently.
Then, with continuous breathing, the glassmaker works the material until the desired volume is obtained.
