Braided straw

History

Each of these placemats tells the story of Bolgatanga's craftsmanship in northern Ghana. This unique, entirely handmade weaving begins with the harvesting of naturally sustainable Veta Vera grass, which is then dyed and carefully woven according to a traditional rhythm and technique. Its two colors invite you to create joyfully contrasting summer tables.

Our Shanti sets are hand-woven

The sets are handmade by women artisans who harvest, dye, and weave a local grass called elephant grass. The apricot and hazelnut shades are obtained from plants such as millet leaves. Each set takes about a day to complete. In addition to their expertise, the association supports access to education and healthcare for local communities.
