Once laid out in a room, Bayana immediately sets the tone. Woven in the Mirzapur region of India on traditional wooden looms, this rug is the result of meticulous craftsmanship that brings together several artisanal techniques.

The weave is created using the traditional panja technique, combining wool and cotton yarns. Across its surface, hand-embroidered and over-embroidered motifs enrich the fabric, creating depth, subtle variations and a play of textures. Weights integrated along the sides also help the rug sit beautifully and securely on the floor.

Behind each rug lies a rich tradition of local craftsmanship. Its production contributes to the economic activity of villages in the region, providing artisans with an additional source of income alongside agriculture.
