History

Original and colourful, Ajrak cushion covers are manufacturing treasures: the fabric is first prepared and then manually printed with traditional Indian patterns before being dyed. The two patterns are both very different yet perfectly complementary: poetic flowers and graphic triangles.

The vegetable dye used for this fabric makes it unique: red and orange are obtained from madder roots, brown from rhubarb root, blue from indigo, and yellow from pomegranate. You can mix and match them or use them to brighten up a more classic plain fabric. As Ajrak fabric is made from natural dye, it is a living material whose colours evolve and acquire a patina over time.

The cushion cover features four small, twirling pompoms as a finishing touch.
