Khadi Cushion Cover

This cotton Khadi cushion cover plays on contrasts with its white background of heavy cotton with a felted appearance and its black contours which hem each cover in extra thickness.

Khadi belongs to this family of exceptional Indian fabrics. The strong identity of this handmade work bears the mark of the one who patiently spun and wove on a wheel, or "charkha" the cotton fiber. The subtle irregularities of the weaving give it all its nobility. It is a soft and supple fabric but also versatile because it is cool in summer and warm in winter.

In India, khadi has sentimental value: Mahatma Gandhi had erected this weaving into a true symbol, that of a craft to be defended.
