History

Makhla is the alliance of hand-woven natural rush and sturdy beaten iron. On the border between delicacy and brute force, it invites itself into your interior and quickly makes a place of choice there: there is no doubt that the striking contrast it embodies, between tradition and modernity, will make it indispensable.

In Morocco, at least, where it originates, the woven rush trays that compose it occupy a central place in daily life. It is not for nothing that it is called Makhla, because it means "meal" in Arabic: traditionally, hot dishes and tagines are served on similar trays... Made in Morocco, the trays have natural color variations that range from beige to green. This is due to the maturity of the rush and the time it has spent in the sun.

As for its folding wrought iron legs, they have fine and majestic lines, all in modernity.

Art of Braiding

In India, artisanal braiding is an ancestral know-how, often passed down from generation to generation by women. They create everyday objects such as mats, stools and seats, using complex weaving techniques. With natural fibers and bright colors, they create unique pieces with harmonious patterns, bringing a touch of beauty and tradition to each object.
