History

When the cushion draws inspiration from fine craftsmanship. These bold floral patterns are entirely hand-painted, extending the gesture of the brush and the artisan’s touch.

Its inspiration comes from Kalamkari, an ancestral pictorial technique originating from India and Iran. The name itself combines two words: Kalam (the pen) and Kari (the work).

Made using natural pigments, the motifs are drawn onto cotton soaked in buffalo milk and resin. Each piece requires a meticulous and patient process: 24 hours of drying are needed between each layer, making every Aster cushion cover a truly handcrafted piece.
