Steel and abaca fiber

History

The Ella lamp base, made of raw steel, captivates with its clean lines and stilt-like silhouette that is both elegant and contemporary. Standing on an angular base, it easily finds its place: on a desk to accompany writing, on a bedside table for evening reading, or even on a shelf, with grace and lightness.

Its handcrafted design plays on the contrast between the delicacy of the lines and the strength of the steel, giving it a unique, almost dancing appearance. It seems to be curtsying: the light gently bends against it.

The Ellabaco lampshade, a new variation on the iconic Ella, reinforces this poetic spirit with its refined pleating. Made from abaca fiber, bamboo, and rattan, the Baco collection showcases exquisitely delicate plant-based craftsmanship. Each piece, handcrafted, requires two to three days of meticulous work—from the frame to the signature black topstitching.

A sculptural and luminous duo, where steel meets the lightness of vegetation.

The Baco collection

The Baco collection celebrates the beauty of natural materials through light. Crafted entirely from plant-based fibres, each piece transforms its surroundings with a distinctive interplay of folds and softly diffused light. Every lampshade and pendant is made from abaca fibre, a natural material derived from the banana plant, and requires two to three days of meticulous handcrafting. The abaca paper is folded entirely by hand, and its subtle irregularities are part of what makes each light so unique. Every piece is then hand-stitched and finished with an elegant border that gives Baco its distinctive character. A true statement piece, Baco comes to life when illuminated, bringing warmth, depth and poetry to any interior.
